A resident of Hamilton, Hamilton Beach, and Burlington, Lois was an active participant in life. Lois golfed and curled at the Glendale Golf and Country Club, lawn bowled, painted, carved, crafted small pieces of furniture, proudly belonged to the Lois' Club, enjoyed bridge, and socializing with the Mohawk College Retirees Association and her numerous friends including lifelong friend Gwen Stephenson. While osteoporosis slowed her down in later years, she kept her wit and smile for all to experience. If desired, donations may be made to Osteoporosis Canada. " May there always be wind in your sails."

We saw thee shine
in youth and beauty's pride,
And Virtue's light,
that beams beyond the spheres;
But, like the sun eclips'd
at morning tide,
Thou left us darkling
in a world of tears.
The parent's heart
that nestled fond in thee,
That heart how sunk,
a prey to grief and care;
So deckt the woodbine
sweet yon aged tree;
So, rudely ravish'd,
left it bleak and bare.
