Hi there
I am looking for my great grandfather's second family. His name was Ray Curran, and came directly from Ireland. He married a girl in Cape Breton, and they had a couple of children, one of them, James, my grandfather. He moved to Ontario and met another woman, married, had children and opened what I understood was a garage of some type. There is a possibility that his second family knows nothing about his first family. If you have a relative Ray Curran, red hair, was a baseball player in Ireland. Maybe he spoke of Cape Breton, I would love to hear from you. :) Thanks
Is there anyone who can tell me what the historical connection between the Currans and Somervilles might be? I have a GG Grandmother, Sarah Eliza Somerville O'Connor, who lists her father as Curran Somerville. The only Curran Somerville I have found was born in Virginia - not in Ireland as was Sarah. My Curran Somerville was a shipping clerk in (I believe) Belfast, Ireland. Any and all info or suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
I am trying to find my great-great grandfather who is listed on a family marriage certificate as "Curran Somerville". According to the marriage certificate of his daughter (Sarah Eliza Somerville - born in Co. Monaghan, Ireland) his approximate birth year would have been 1799 to 1805. I have no idea if he was born in Scotland or Ireland. Hoping someone in Curran-land might have a suggestion or comment. Thanks for your time!
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Valerie Beshele Somerville on Friday, April 26, 2013.
Predeceased by her husband Ross Somerville. Beloved daughter of Kathleen Grant (late Bill Grant) and the late Stewart Lockhart. Loving mother of Robert Curran (Debbie), William Curran (Sharon), Kathleen Caron (Roger), Cameron Curran (Darlene) and Susan Curran, and step-mother of John and Kathy Somerville. Treasured Gramma of Jennifer (Paul Sherman), Chris (Julie Ana Chris), Robert, Stephanie, Andrew, Mackenzie, Cameron, and Meaghan Curran, Beshele, Katie and Nicole Caron, Veronica and Ethan Hampson, and Sandy and Justin Somerville.
Valerie owned and operated Lockhart's Ladies Wear on Concession Street, Hamilton for many years.
As per Valerie's wishes, cremation has taken place and a gathering of family and friends will take place on Sunday, May 12, 2013 from 12-3 p.m. at the home of Robert Curran, 569 Sharalin Court, Burlington, ON L7T 2N7.

We saw thee shine
in youth and beauty's pride,
And Virtue's light,
that beams beyond the spheres;
But, like the sun eclips'd
at morning tide,
Thou left us darkling
in a world of tears.
The parent's heart
that nestled fond in thee,
That heart how sunk,
a prey to grief and care;
So deckt the woodbine
sweet yon aged tree;
So, rudely ravish'd,
left it bleak and bare.

I am looking for my cousin, Bill Curran, son of the late Christie Curran of Dublin, Ireland. I am the son of Catherine Roberts (née Curran), Christie\'s sister. I have important information from a lawyer in Dublin who is trying to contact Christie\'s children regarding the estate of the late Patrick Curran
Hi, my name is Kris I am the son of Howard Eric Curran (deceased). I am from Oshawa Ontario Canada. I'm trying to locate my half brother and sister: Jason Curran and Tracy Curran. Any info would be great. Thank you.
My great-grandfather, Harold Wright had a relationship with a woman named Ruth Curran in the mid 1920's. She had Earl and Edwin by him. There's a lot of hearsy around what happened, but somehow my grandfather Edwin, and his brother Earl ended up being legally adopted by their grandparents Herbert and Minnie Wright and Ruth was never again seen. I understand that Ruth wasn't ever actually married to my grandfather, and that she may have been neglectful. I've also heard that she may have passed away in the British Columbia area. This is all that I have to go on, aside from the fact that during the time my grandfather would have been conceived, he was apparently in Minnesota, U.S.A. This leads me to believe that Ruth was an American or had stayed there with him.
Any information that anyone may have about a Ruth Curran born around 1900-1905 with two sons missing would be of great help.
Thank you.
CURRAN, Archibald Donald - Peacefully, at the Northridge Long Term Care Centre, Oakville, on Saturday, July 21, 2012, at the age of 91. Loving and dedicated husband for 59 years of the late Madeline (September, 2002). Beloved father of Nicole Formanek (Ed) and Michael Curran (Shirley). Proud grandfather of Jeffrey, Andrea Meyer (Graham), Devon (Pete) and Madelaine and cherished great-grandfather of Julia and John. Dear brother of the late Bill, Jack and Tom and brother-in-law of Norma Curran and Vera Nunn and dance partner of Kay. Serving his country as an RCAF flying officer, Arch\'s character was refined into that of a true officer and a gentleman. He was a world traveler who lived life to the fullest. Arch loved golfing, curling, playing bridge and ballroom dancing, but his true love was for his family who always came first.
Thank you to all the staff from Northridge Long Term Care Centre, for all of their excellent care and compassion provided to our father. Special thanks to Heritage Place in Burlington who also went above and beyond.
