Software

Software

I've decided to start expounding on the various pieces of software that I have found useful over the years. I'm going to concentrate on the stuff that is still useful even after the initial "wow" has worn off. You'll find that I use a lot of free, open sourced software much like the "GLFusion" portal that you are reading now. The key to using open source and free software is to support it if you do use it , whether by contributing time or money. This keeps the incentive for coders to code, writers to document and artists to create while able to recoup money , kharma or both.

Some of the best software that I have ever used is open sourced from SourceForge. This site has thousands and thousands of projects, some mature some in their infancy.

CDEX is probably my all-time favourite program for ripping CDs and encoding them to MP3, FLAC, APE or whatever format I might entertain using.
